Specialist NPQs

The 4 new Specialist NPQs designed to support leaders and aspiring leaders wishing to develop in specialist areas of teaching are:

  • Leading Teacher Development (NPQ LTD): for teachers who have, or are aspiring to have, responsibilities for leading the development of other teachers in their school
  • Leading Teaching (NPQ LT): for teachers who have, or are aspiring to have, responsibilities for leading teaching in a subject, year group, key stage or phase
  • Leading Behaviour and Culture (NPQ LBC): for teachers who have, or are aspiring to have, responsibilities for leading behaviour and/or supporting pupil wellbeing in their school
  • Leading Literacy (NPQLL): for teachers who have, or are aspiring to have, responsibilities for leading literacy across a school, year group, key stage or phase 

National Professional Qualification for Leading Teacher Development:

This course is designed for teachers and school leaders who are already supporting, or who aspire to support, the training and development of others, including Early Career Teachers.

Full scholarship funding, with no cost to the participant, for the NPQ for Leading Teacher Development is available to all teachers who meet the following criteria:

  • Have, or are aspiring to have, responsibilities for leading the development of other teachers in their school.
  • Work in a state funded school and state funded organisations that offer 16-19 places in England.

The Specialist NPQs and the NPQSLwill be delivered through the North East London Teaching School Hub (NELTSH)  in conjunction with UCL:IoE.

The NPQH and NPQEL will be delivered through the North East London Teaching School Hub (NELTSH) in conjunction with UCL:IoE and the East London Teaching School Hub (ELTSH).
